English X. Have a question? It seems like the programme cannot see my internet connection. My internet connection is working OK for everything else. Anybody got any ideas as to what the problem might be and how to fix it.

Chris Slac Thank you Santosh. There is no error message. When I click on update virus definitions it seems to start the process and then just hangs with the green bar going back and forth.

I have left it for over an hour but nothing happens. I am only guessing that AVG cannot see the internet. Have tried for a number of days now but nothing happens. I followed your instructions and got to the point where windows asks « do you want to allow app to make changes ». Please try to start later. I then went into settings and tried to switch off AVG re starter there are 2 of these and AVlaunch componenet and tried again but got to the same point and message.

Chris Slac Thank you Balasubramanian. I followed the instructions to run AVG clear tool. I first checked which version of AVG free I have and it is version I downloaded the file to my computer.

When I right clicked on the file it went straight to the User Account Control and I did not get the option to « run as administrator ». When I clicked yes in User Account Control a box came up with a green bar going back and forth and that was as far as things went.

I have tried 4 or 5 times now and have switched the computer off and left it for a few hours but seem to get stuck at the same point.. Clearly something is wrong! Any ideas what the problem might be? Balasubramanian S Avast You are welcome, Chris.
