For many years I used Word 97, it worked, then came. I can fire up Word 97, write a letter and have it printed before Office has lumbered into life. And one real pain is that I could no longer double-click a. Office started to wind up even after I had reset the file associations. I then had to click Cancel numerous times as warning after warning popped up, and even after Canceling over and over Word would still open the document, eventually.

I no longer want Office , I’m through with it. I thought that would be the end of the matter. However, I was still being offered updates for Why if I no longer had it installed?

I used jv16 Power Tools to clean the registry, it removed hundreds of entries pertaining to Office , hundreds! I then used CCleaner, cleaned out even more junk. Tried double-clicking a. The video looked promising. Since I’d already un-installed at least partially, I tried to work through the manual uninstall.

I was impressed by the very clear video instructions, unfortunately that didn’t get me very far. The first step was to « Show hidden files ». I’ve always had that selected since Win 3.

Still never mind, on to the next step. Then came the registry entries, and that’s where the video became unusable. The picture on my monitor was nothing like the one in the tutorial and it’s impossible to make out the keys in the video so that’s as far as I could go.

After that I did a registry search for « Office » and « Word14 ». Found another entries. I wonder why jv16 didn’t flag those ones? I exported the registry and then deleted them all. Made no difference. This is like killing the un-dead, just what do I need to do to get rid of this Office suite?

Any suggestions short of a clean install of Win 7??? Form the description I understand you are having issues uninstalling Office manually. Since the jv16 Power Tool is a non Microsoft product, it would not be possible to say which registry keys it has deleted. It ran for some time, I really got qutie hopeful, but in the end it didn’t Fixit. When I double-click on a. The reason I resorted to jv16 and CCleaner was because uninstalling from Control Panel left a huge amount of junk in the registry, hundreds of entries, and this is a Microsoft Control Panel, a Microsoft Uninstall routine. Go ahead and save the file to the desktop and then run the fix -it from there to remove office If that fails the other option would be to follow the manual steps in the article to remove it.

During install, I allowed install tool to uninstall my previous version Office Enterprise. It appeared to work fine. Software works fine. I did not do windlws else to my system in the microsoft office 2010 not uninstalling windows 10 free. I attempted to repair the Office install to no avail I have tried a few other approaches, including the manual removal method outline in KBand I still cannot install it.

When I try to uninstall the Windows installer packages in Step 1 of KB, the systems tells me that I cannot run install until a previous installation is noot. I am trying to update my subscription to my antivirus which runs out in a couple of days.
